According to the Memphis Grizzlies, their starting point guard will miss ‘at least’ the next two games.

After the NBA started an investigation into a social media post by the superstar guard after he live streamed himself brandishing what seemed to be a pistol at a nightclub, the Memphis Grizzlies announced Saturday that Ja Morant will miss at least the team’s next two games.

After the Grizzlies revealed that their superstar guard would be taking some time off, he delivered an apology on Saturday afternoon.

Ja Morant live-streamed the footage on his Instagram profile, and as he halted the stream, the video was deleted.

After facing the Nuggets on Friday night, the Grizzlies flew to Los Angeles on Saturday to take on the Clippers on Sunday and the Lakers on Tuesday.

In a brief statement, the Grizzlies confirmed that Ja Morant will be out on the court for at least those two games.

“We are aware of a social media post featuring Ja Morant and are investigating,”

If the league discovers misconduct, they might punish or suspend Ja Morant

According to the Grizzlies’ announcement, Ja Morant won’t return to action until Thursday’s home game against the Warriors. It was unclear if he would be making the journey to Los Angeles with the Grizzlies.

Morant, a two-time All-Star who is averaging 27.1 points and 8.2 assists per game, has guided Memphis to the second spot in the Western Conference.

Ja Morant has being investigated by the league for the 2nd time in as many weeks. After an altercation on January 29 in Memphis.

Morant said resulted in a friend of his being banned from Memphis home games for a year, league launched an investigation.

The incident occurred after a game against the Indiana Pacers, with the Indianapolis Star and USA Today citing unnamed sources to say that multiple Pacers players and staff saw a red dot pointed at them.

The Athletic saying that a security guard for the Pacers thought the laser was attached to a gun.
