The All-Star forward Zion Williamson for the Pelicans has been out with a hamstring ailment since January 2.
On Wednesday night, the New Orleans Pelicans announced that All-Star forward Zion Williamson will remain sidelined for at least 2 more weeks while the team monitors the All-recovery Star’s from a right hamstring injury that occurred more than 2 months ago. The injury occurred more than two months ago.
In a statement that the club issued, it was said that recent medical imaging “indicated that Williamson’s hamstring continues to mend.” The subsequent evaluation of him is scheduled to take place in around two weeks.
Following the conclusion of this next test, the Pelicans will have ten games remaining in the regular season.
As of the activity on Wednesday night, New Orleans had a record of 31-34 and was tied for 10th in the Western Conference with three other teams. Since Williamson’s injury on January 2, the Pelicans had a record of 8-20.

Pelicans head coach Willie Green alluded to a setback Williamson experienced in his recovery shortly before the All-Star game when he said, “It’s been tough dealing with the hamstring and working himself back and kind of having the same issue again.” Green was referring to the fact that Williamson had the same problem again.

Green stated that Williamson has been increasing his strength, working out in the water, and practicing his spot shooting on the court.
Green continued by saying, “So, he’s developing, but we’re incredibly cognizant of the fact that the last time he got to six weeks, he wasn’t yet ready.”
After graduating from Duke in 2019, Williamson was selected first overall in the NBA Draft; however, he was sidelined for the entirety of the 2021-22 season due to a foot ailment and for the most of his rookie season due to a knee injury.
Since turning professional, he has played in a total of 114 games out of a possible 292 regular season games, although he has not participated in any of New Orleans’ eight postseason games.
Williamson signed a five-year rookie max agreement with New Orleans over the summer of 2018, and the deal’s worth could range anywhere from $193 million to $231 million depending on the incentives.
