Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of Oklahoma City was among the three players a global media panel selected.
The only unanimous first-team pick was Greek superstar and two-time NBA Most Valuable Player Giannis Antetokounmpo (100 votes, 500 points), who was joined on the forwards’ side by American great Jayson Tatum (98 votes, 484 points).
Cameroonian superstar center Joel Embiid received 87 first-team votes and 474 total points, earning him a spot on the All-NBA First Team for the first time.
Gilgeous-Alexander received 63 first-team votes and 407 total points versus Doncic’s 60 first-team votes and 403 total points.
Embiid, Gilgeous-Alexander, Tatum, Doncic, and Antetokounmpo were all named to the first team for the first time.
Nikola Jokic, Stephen Curry Lead All-Star Cast on All-NBA Second Team, LeBron James and Damian Lillard Headline All-NBA Third Team
Two-time NBA Most Valuable Player Nikola Jokic of Denver, who is from Serbia, was named to the All-NBA Second Team, along with Warriors guard Stephen Curry, Cavaliers wing Donovan Mitchell, Heat big Jimmy Butler, and Celtics forward Jaylen Brown.
LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers, Julius Randle of the New York Knicks, Damian Lillard of Portland, De’Aaron Fox of the Sacramento Kings, and Domantas Sabonis of the Lithuanian National Team all made the All-NBA Third Team.
James, a four-time NBA MVP and four-time NBA champion who became the league’s all-time top scorer in his 20th NBA season received his third honorable mention to the third team, adding to his 13 first-team and three second-team nods.
For the 9th time in his career, Curry was named to an All-NBA team. Steph Curry made the first team four times, and four more times, he was named to the second.
It was the seventh time that Jokic and Butler were both among the top 15 players in the league. While Butler has never been a part of the first team, Jokic has been three times.
Lillard was named to the All-NBA First Team for the eighth time in his career. Once, Lillard made the first team, and four times he made the second.
